Meet Dr. Christopher Smart

Dr. Smart received a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Vermont in 2005 followed by a Master’s of Food Science in 2007.  He then relocated to his home state of West Virginia to attend dental school at West Virginia University.  Dr. Smart received a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2011 and continued on to the Advanced Specialty Program in Endodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University.  During his residency, he also earned a Master of Science degree for his research on the application of microbial evaluation of the calamus gutta percha delivery system during root canal treatment.  Each year Dr. Smart attends numerous continuing dental education courses to remain knowledgeable of the latest advances in endodontics.

Dr. Smart is dedicated to helping others in his local communities.  As a dental student in West Virginia and resident in Virginia, Dr. Smart participated in Mission of Mercy projects.  This volunteer-based program provides free dental services to the underserved, as well as preventative care. 

Dr. Smart is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Vermont State Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.  He is also a member of Delta Sigma Delta.

Dr. Smart played hockey for the University of Vermont Catamounts from 2001-2005. When he is not helping patients, Dr. Smart loves spending time with his family. In his free time he enjoys hiking, golfing, skiing, and fishing.  Dr. Smart resides in Williston, Vermont with his wife, Gillian and daughters, Ella and Anna.
